Behind the Curtain: The Real Life of a Financial Advisor and Agency Owner

From the outside, people often see the polished meetings, the professional headshots, and the occasional social media post about business milestones. What they do not always see is what happens behind the curtain.

My days start and end with people. I am meeting with clients, listening to their concerns, building plans to protect their families, and helping them make sense of complex financial decisions. Between those meetings, I am searching for advisors to on-board, interviewing them, and trying to identify who will genuinely put clients first in every conversation.

Running an advisory group means I am also constantly collaborating. I spend time meeting with partners, connecting with other professionals, and building a network of people I can confidently share business with—mortgage brokers, accountants, lawyers, and other specialists who can serve my clients well. Every new relationship is another way to create better solutions for the families who trust us.

But the work is not just external. There is a lot of quiet, unseen effort: studying, staying up to date on regulations, product changes, and market shifts, and constantly learning so that the advice I give is both current and responsible. It is hours of reading, training, and refining processes so our team can serve clients more efficiently and more effectively.

Then there is the part of my life that matters even more than all of that—my family. I am intentional about spending time with my two kids, raising them with my wife, and being present even when my mind wants to drift back to work. I am trying to be the best dad and husband I can be, while still building something meaningful for our clients, our advisors, and our community.

This is the reality that goes on behind the curtain. It is messy, busy, exhausting at times—but it is also purposeful
